Last year, the event took place held in Grand Rapids, Mich., a state which is tied with New York for having hosted the event the most at four times each. Minnesota hosted the 2010 U.S. Synchronized Skating Championships last month in Minneapolis, and the 2008 U.S. Figure Skating Championships were held in St. Paul, Minn.
