Our Mission:

To provide a center for excellence in figure skating, using the highest ethical standards, for those interested in the sport.


You Can Help!

We have many ways you can become involved in the Figure Skating Club of Bloomington. All the opportunities listed below count towards your required volunteer hours. None of these positions need to be done alone. Grab a friend or meet someone new!

If you sign up for a "Chair" position, you are not required to track your hours. You will automatically be credited!

Position Description
Ice Monitor Verify all skaters on the ice are properly registered on the Club Room sign-in sheets
General Office Assistance Assist in envelope stuffing, making copies, sorting incoming forms, etc.
Proofreader Help ensure all of our documents are presented professionally
Phone Calling Contact club members as needed.
Fundraising Chair Coordinate the development and implementation of a fundraising campaign.
Event Chair Coordinate processes for hosting a major competition at the Bloomington Ice Garden.
Ice Show Chair Act as liason between the club members, the various show committees, and the Show Director
Ice Show Program Advertising Coordinate the sale of ads to be placed in the program. These will be sold to both members and area businesses.
Club Promotion Ensure advertisements appear in Bloomington district backpack mail and posters are displayed in a timely manner.
Newsletter Assist in producing a simple newsletter for the membership on a periodic basis.
Media Publicity Issue news releases to local newspapers for publication.
Fundraising Committee Member Assist in fundraising duties to be determined by the Fundraising Chair.
Bookeeping Assist in general bookeeping duties.
Budget Help organize a budget for presentation. Budget data will be provided to you by committee chairs.
Invoicing Produce invoices as directed by the treasurer.
Regulatory Finance Assist with submitting tax and other regulatory documentation.
New Member Advisor Personally greet a new member. Ensure all their questions are answered and they have all needed paperwork. Offer to be a contact for future questions.
Exhibitions Coordinate before competitions to allow sakters an opportunity for a "dress rehearsal".
Spring Banquet Help organize a fun event for skaters, coaches, and families.
